New Orleans Mutual Aid Society

Apr 22, 2022

Today we’re lifting up the work of the New Orleans Mutual Aid Society. NOMAS is a group of six residents of the Bayou St. John neighborhood, who organize mutual aid for people affected by the Coronavirus outbreak in New Orleans. Together they provide free meals and groceries to their neighbors in need. NOMAS work has been critical to supporting sex workers and low wage workers throughout the pandemic and those impacted by the current storms in Louisiana. As hurricane season quickly approaches, NOMAS will need support to provide mutual aid to families in the New Orleans area.
