The Rite of Lilith

Seattle, Washington

Part ritual, part spectacle… The Rite of Lilith revels in hedonism and is born of the heart. For those poor souls unable to attend the show in person, despair not! The show was filmed and is available for viewing as part of the #OldProProject.

The Rite of Lilith was a live burlesque performance featuring acts inspired by the ancient history of Lilith and magic contained within and around sex work.

This show is an unapologetic celebration, and audience members were welcomed to feast their eyes on the performers whilst they wove powerful, provocative, and alluring energy on the stage. The performers and crew called the power of Lilith into the space by adorning an altar in her honor, which was prominently featured on the stage throughout the show.

Daniel Chang

Videographer

Daniel Chang is a second generation Korean American from San Bruno, California. As a child he was noted as gifted but also developed notoriety for behavior issues. By the time he was expelled from high school in 2006, the school faculty knew him as the queer communist gun nut who wore fetish platform boots and a floor length leather trenchcoat, and the local police knew him as the Chinese boy.

Daniel earned his Bachelor of Arts in Cinema at San Francisco State University, where he also took a plethora of Ethnic Studies classes. Now a Seattle resident, he pursues portrait photography and filmmaking as a member of Little Grey Cat, an artist collective and agency for creative professionals who work behind the camera.
